- Read for class. I can’t believe I’m ahead of what I’m supposed to be reading. But I told myself I would own my classes. And by own, I mean 4.0.
- Work on free lance things. I still need to scan my documents…now where’s a scanner?
- Run. I really need to start exercising again. I’m lethargic all the time now.
- Clean up my room. That’s it! I hate being a pack rat and I’m just going to dump everything now.
Let the crossing off begin!

Here are some pictures from the Erin Wasson trunk show. Despite being on a Thursday night and knowing I had work Friday, I had to go. I love how simple her jewelry pieces are, but they still manage to make a statement on my kid sized hands. I was fortunate enough to meet her and let her know that!
Ps. I’m seriously in love with the cross necklace! I normally don’t wear crosses, but I really liked this one. Ultimately I decided to be a good kid and not spend my pay check. Surprised? Yeah, I am too!
Thanks to Katie who found this and posted it on my Facebook! It was such a chill event to attend. Check out Erin Wasson’s Q&A. She’s so down to Earth!
When I went to The Wardrobe’s event, I couldn’t decide what to wear. I just knew I wanted to wear my Zoe boots, so I had to rummage through my closet. Then I figured, why not make a video about it? Enjoy.
Wearing: Outfit 1: Sweet heart floral dress-NastyGal Outfit 2: Tank dress c/o of cherrylipstain, hat-Nordstrom Outfit 3: t-shirt-H&M, skirt-H&M
And to my pledge kids, yes I am sporting the trendy Fall 2009 McKenzie class t-shirt.
I love being in an environment where I’m always learning.
I know I came into Tumblr with the mindset that I wouldn’t clutter it with photographs and quotes, but it’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. I’m tempted to just put daily quotes that inspire me without any thought behind it.
As I clicked on the “quote” icon, I decided against it. There’s a reason as to why a quote is inspiring to me and I want to share it with whoever is reading it. Maybe the quote will inspire you in another way, who knows?
Now to spill a few of my thoughts about why I love such a thriving environment. I suppose it’s because I feel like my creativity is constantly challenged and I’m always being pushed to excel. I never want to be at a place where my learning abilities are stunted and all I’ll ever reach is satisifactory. I want more than that and I want to learn from my superiors.
Everyone surrounding me not only has a college degree, but a masters in business or a doctorate degree. I’m not saying to be successful you need those degrees because I do know extraordinary people who are chasing their dreams that doesn’t involve school. (For instance, my parents didn’t go to school and now I’m a donut slave!) What I do see is the passion that allows my mentors to be the ultimate best at what they do. I love being able to pop into someone’s office or cubicle and leave with the feeling of wanting to do something with my life.
Right now I’m focusing on eliminating the “What ifs” in life and doing everything I want to do. That’s what my 20s are for, right? No regrets.

I kept this post separately from the other two because I really wanted to showcase this jaw dropping Alexander McQueen dress. Based off her stunning outfit, you’d think she’s working in the industry but I found out she’s actually the senior air quality and climate change specialist in Sacramento. A few conversations later, I knew I had to make a post about how inspired I felt by meeting her.
Personally, I love fashion. I love how a simple cardigan or even a pair of shoes can make you feel confident. Do I love the industry? Sure, but I understand it’s not all rainbows and unicorns-it’s a cut throat world out there. I’m currently working in the biotechnology field…and you’re probably asking, “Well, do you love that?” Yes, I really do. And then I get quizzical stares because science and fashion are two polar opposite things. I used to think it was an impossible idea until it hit me that I can do whatever I want. Slowly but surely, I began meeting more and more people like me.
While I was interning at The Wardrobe, I was able to attend a fashion shoot for the store’s website. Whitney was there to model some of the outfits and I didn’t get the chance to meet her. This time around, I managed to catch up with her and finally found out what she did as a living and for fun. She’s an alumni from UCDavis and holding a Ph.D! I’m even more in awe since she helps the environment and one of my current projects is to start a recycling program where I work. On the side, she helps out The Wardrobe with modeling and of course, scours E-bay for some amazing designer finds like her Alexander McQueen dress.
Science? Fashion? Call me crazy, but I do believe the two relate and somehow I’ve managed to make both work for me.

In addition to the other photos, I forgot to post an outfit picture. I tried to take a few outside, but my camera was giving me a hard time. I really wish I had a DSLR again. I feel like my point and shoot just doesn’t quite capture the image I see.
P.s. I look like some kind of vampire with my amber eyes. I should be in Twilight.
